Specifications

Measurement principle
Time domain reflection (TDR).
Microwave output power
Rated 300 µW, maximum 45 mW.
Telecommunications (FCC and R&TTE)
Compliant with FCC Part 15 (1998) Subpart B and R&TTE (EU Directive 99/5/EC). It is considered an unintentional radiator according to Part 15.
Humidity 0-100% relative humidity.
Start time <40 seconds.
Internal power consumption <50 mW during normal operation.
Output
Two-wire system, 4-20 mA. The stacking of digital process variables in a 4-20 mA signal is suitable for any host compliant with the HART protocol. The HART signal can be used in multi-point mode.
Signal wiring  It is recommended to use shielded twisted pair cables, 18-12 AWG, for output cables.
HART triple loop
By sending a digital HART signal to the optional HART triple loop, up to three additional 4-20 mA analog signals can be obtained.
Smart wireless THUM adapter The optional smart wireless THUM adapter can be directly installed on the transmitter or used with a remote installation kit. It supports IEC 62591 (WirelessHART) for accessing multivariate data and diagnostic information, adding wireless capabilities to almost any measurement point.
External power supply
HART input voltage (UI) 16-42.4 Vdc (16-30 Vdc in intrinsically safe applications and 20-42.4 Vdc in flameproof/flameproof applications).
For fire/explosion-proof installations, the Rosemount 5300 series transmitters have built-in isolation barriers, eliminating the need for external isolation barriers. When equipped with an intelligent wireless THUM adapter, it increases the voltage drop by up to 2.5 Vdc in the connected circuit.
Minimum input voltage (UI) at different currents
Current 3.75 mA
Non-hazardous and intrinsically safe installations 16 Vdc
Explosion-proof/fireproof installations 20 Vdc
Current 21.75 mA
Non-hazardous and intrinsically safe installations 11 Vdc
Explosion-proof/fireproof installations 15.5 Vdc
Integrated display screen (option code M1) The integrated digital display can switch between the following values: liquid level, air height, volume, internal temperature, interface distance, interface liquid level, maximum amplitude, interface thickness, range percentage, and analog current output.
Remote indication Data can be read from the integrated display screen option for 4-20 mA/HART or remotely using the Rosemount 751 field signal indicator. For FOUNDATION™ Fieldbus, it can be read using the Rosemount 752 remote indicator.
Output unit Liquid level, interface, and air height: Feet, inches, meters, centimeters, or millimeters.
Liquid level change rate Feet/second, meters/second, inches/minute, meters/hour.
Volume ft³, inches, US gallons, English gallons, yd³, m³, or liters.
Temperature °F and °C.
Diagnosis The transmitter includes diagnosis and alarm functions for hardware and software errors, electronic device temperature, waveguide rod faults, as well as invalid measurement and configuration error diagnosis. The echo curve and variable recording function, including signal strength, aid in online fault diagnosis.
Advanced Diagnosis The signal quality detection function monitors the decrease in liquid level signal quality related to excessive noise. It helps in making guide rod cleaning plans or detecting and monitoring turbulence, boiling, foam, and emulsification. This feature can be ordered by selecting the D01 or DA1 options.
Damping 0-60 seconds (2 seconds default).
Storage temperature -50 °C to 90 °C (-58 °F to 194 °F) with integrated display screen: -40 °C to 85 °C (-40 °F to 185 °F).
